0bridge and OpenClaw
OpenClaw is a self-hosted assistant you run yourself and reach from messaging apps. 0bridge is a hosted MCP endpoint, plus history, memory and control of coding agents on your own machine. They overlap on one job, starting and watching coding agents from your phone, and differ on almost everything else. As of 2026-10-01.

The short version#
Use OpenClaw if you want an assistant you host and control end to end, reachable from many chat channels, with its own skills and schedules. Use 0bridge if what you want is for the AI tools you already use to share services, memory and session history, and to steer coding agents on your own machine from Claude, ChatGPT or a dashboard.
Side by side#

Using both#
They don't conflict. 0bridge can collect the Codex-based sessions OpenClaw leaves on disk, so past work stays searchable. The sensible way to switch is to run both until approvals from your phone have worked through 0bridge for a week, then decide.
When not to use 0bridge#
- You want everything on your own hardware, including the gateway. 0bridge is hosted.
- You rely on OpenClaw's channels, skills or schedules beyond coding agents. 0bridge doesn't replace them.
- You need an assistant that acts without you in the loop. 0bridge relays approvals to you instead.
- You can't send task text through a third party. Agent prompts and output pass through 0bridge's servers.
