ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to 0bridge as a custom connector with developer mode on. Level: connector. Last checked 2026-10-01.

Set it up#

Custom MCP connectors need a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) with developer mode, which a workspace admin may have to allow. ChatGPT moves these settings now and then; the names below are the current ones.

https://0bridge.dev/mcp
  1. Open ChatGPT, then Settings → Security and login (on some accounts: Apps → Advanced settings) and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins (or Settings → Apps) and click + (Create).
  3. Name: 0bridge. Description: My services and secrets through 0bridge. Under Connection, choose the public endpoint and paste the URL above. If it asks for authentication, pick OAuth.
  4. Create it. A 0bridge page opens: sign in, check it names ChatGPT, and click Allow.
  5. In a new chat, add 0bridge from the tools menu (+).

What ChatGPT gets#

Everything the other chat apps get: your connected services, your profile in short, memory on request and your skills. Agent control too, while it is on (it is for new accounts).

ChatGPT may ask you to confirm tools that change something (sending a message, creating an issue). Reads run straight away. Whether it confirms 0bridge's own write tools, such as bridge__memory_save and bridge__agent_start, depends on your plan and ChatGPT's current rules, and we haven't verified that on every plan.

Your coding-session history is available while Chat history is on under Settings → AI apps on the dashboard (on for new accounts), and never through a directory listing. Ask ChatGPT to turn it, agent control or webhook events off and it calls bridge__settings_off; turning one back on is only on the dashboard, with your passkey. Secrets are never available.

Never refresh again#

ChatGPT keeps a copy of 0bridge's tool list and reads it again only when you click Refresh. Dots that reach 0bridge through your ChatGPT app have the same copy. So 0bridge lists four tools that never change, whatever you connect, turn off or switch on:

  • bridge__search finds a tool by a few words: your services' (Linear, Slack…) and 0bridge's own (Drive, memory, agents and host tasks…).
  • bridge__describe shows one tool's parameters.
  • bridge__execute runs tools that only read: one by name, or several in a short script whose result comes back in one answer.
  • bridge__execute_write runs tools that change something. ChatGPT asks you before each one.

One exception: when agent control is on and one of your machines keeps a work ledger, a fifth tool, bridge__ledger_append, adds your requests, follow-ups and answers to that ledger and does nothing else (Dots and your dev host). It appears after one refresh once that's set up.

A search follows your connections and settings at that moment, and every tool it runs gets the same checks as before (tools you turned off, read-only connections, your plan). Scripts run on 0bridge in a sandbox with no network: all they can reach is your tools.

If ChatGPT still lists tools by service name, it has the older list: those still work. Refresh 0bridge once (chatgpt.com/plugins, open 0bridge, Refresh) and start a new chat to get the four tools; you won't need to refresh again.

Prefer every tool listed one by one? Connect the address ending in /mcp?tools=all instead. That list goes out of date like before, and the Never refresh 0bridge in ChatGPT setting under Settings → AI apps gives such an address a fixed list with search.

Events#

ChatGPT supports MCP events in Work chats on the web, in the desktop app with Cloud selected, and in dots: ChatGPT subscribes when you ask it to watch for something, and 0bridge sends each event to it, signed. 0bridge offers:

  • host.task.question, host.task.completed and host.task.failed, with agent control on and a supervisor set up on your machine: Dots and your dev host.
  • webhook.received, your webhooks' events, if you turned on Webhook events in chat apps: Triggers and webhooks.

After turning either on, open the 0bridge plugin's page in ChatGPT and rescan it so the events show next to the tools. Then ask in a Work chat: "Watch my host tasks and tell me each question with its question id." Events missed while ChatGPT or 0bridge was down aren't replayed; bridge__host_status shows where things stand.

Not yet seen with a real ChatGPT account (tested 2026-10-05 against a stand-in for ChatGPT's receiver only).

If it doesn't work#

  • Nothing opens: allow pop-ups for the ChatGPT site, and check the URL ends in /mcp.
  • No Developer mode switch: your plan or workspace doesn't allow it yet. Ask the workspace admin.
  • Only bridge__… tools listed: that's expected: four tools find and run the rest. Ask for what you want ("list my Linear issues") and ChatGPT searches for the tool. If a search finds nothing from a service, connect it first.
  • A service you connected is missing, or tools you turned off are still listed: ChatGPT keeps the list of tools it read from 0bridge and doesn't read it again by itself. Open 0bridge at chatgpt.com/plugins, select Refresh, then start a new chat (OpenAI: refresh metadata). Until then, calling a tool you turned off is refused, so nothing runs through it. The plain /mcp address doesn't need this once you've refreshed after 2026-10-06: see Never refresh again.

Remove it#

Disconnect it in the app under Settings → Apps.
