Switching between AI tools

Moving between ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini CLI, or leaving OpenClaw or a Slack bot, without starting over. 0bridge keeps the parts that usually get stuck in one vendor's app.

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini CLI#

What moves, and how (the Gemini app is untested: we know of no way to add a custom MCP server to it, so this means Gemini CLI):

WhatHow it moves
Your services (Linear, Notion, Slack…)Connect them once to 0bridge; add the endpoint to each tool
Instructions and profile0b context push; chat apps read a short excerpt, coding agents read the file
MemorySaved to 0bridge, searched from any tool
Coding sessions0b resume 0b:k3f9x2 or "continue 0b:k3f9x2"
SkillsStored once, offered as prompts and as files

What doesn't move: a vendor's own chat history and its built-in memory. Those stay in that vendor's app. Export them with the vendor's own export if you want a copy.

A chat that happened in Claude or ChatGPT can be saved as a checkpoint if you have chat history turned on: ask the app to save it, and you can continue it in another tool with its reference.

The steps per tool are in Supported clients.

Leaving OpenClaw#

OpenClaw is a self-hosted assistant you reach from chat apps. If you used it mostly to start and watch coding agents on your own machine, Your agents from your phone does that part through Claude, ChatGPT or the dashboard, without a gateway of your own.

  • Keep OpenClaw running until approvals from your phone have worked for a week. Nothing here requires you to remove it.
  • 0b history can collect OpenClaw's Codex-based sessions from ~/.openclaw, so past work stays searchable.
  • If OpenClaw did more than that for you (many chat channels, its own skills and schedules), 0bridge doesn't replace that. 0bridge and OpenClaw.

Leaving a Slack bot#

If a Slack bot starts your coding agents, the same job moves to the dashboard or a chat app. You lose the Slack thread as the interface; you gain approvals with the permission prompt in front of you. 0bridge and Slack bots.

Leaving 0bridge#

The point is that you can. Your history, instructions and skills start as files and sessions on your machines. 0bridge's copy is an index. Deleting your account deletes the server's copy and leaves yours. Your services' logins are yours to reconnect elsewhere. Why no lock-in.
